We're looking for new recruits for the Real Radio Patrol - if you're a fun individual who is looking for a flexible and varied role at the North West's biggest and best radio station, then this could be the opportunity for you...
The Real Radio Patrol is an ongoing team of bright and lively individuals whose main task is to take the Real Radio brand to the streets of the North West. The team represents everything about Real Radio - as a Patrol member you are the eyes, ears, mouths and bodies of Real Radio! The Patrol are an important tool for Real Radio - by getting out and about in the North West, the Patrol gives people a personal interaction with their favourite radio station.
Real Radio Patrol members have Real Radio running through their veins! Crew should love the music on Real Radio as much as the listeners. Crew are lively, extrovert individuals - the life and soul of the party. Crew need to be adaptable to any given situation, be able to think on their feet and should be good communicators, able to strike up a conversation with people of all walks of life.
Ideally, Patrol members will have some experience in hosting or stage work. Often Patrol will be asked to speak on a microphone at an event or even go on air to talk about Patrol activity - so you need to be confident and commanding. Some presenting or public speaking experience would be ideal, but not absolutely necessary.
All Patrol members are required to be holders of a full clean driving licence.
Real Radio is involved in all kinds of events and activities that require the Patrol. Patrol activities range from assisting presenters at Race For Life events, to taking pictures of listeners enjoying one of our Intimate & Exclusive gigs. You may hit the road in the Real Jeeps, leading a convoy throughout the North West. Or you may find yourself in a seaside town and handing out free ice creams from the Real Ice Cream vans whilst running an impromptu karaoke contest!
No two days are the same in the Real Radio Patrol.
There are no set hours of work - some events have an early start, some involve late nights and many take place over the weekend. There are some busier periods, such as summer and the weeks leading up to Christmas. We aim to get the Crew out as much as possible over the next 12 months. The more flexible you can be with your availability, the more hours we'll give you.
As a member of the Real Radio Patrol, you are employed on a casual basis - this means that you must be registered with the Inland Revenue as 'self employed' and are therefore responsible for your own income tax and National Insurance.
Please send you CV, Photograph and cover letter explaining why you want to work for the Real Radio Patrol to lizzy.holroyd@realradio.co.uk
