Preston Christmas lights switch on 2010 (2)
BJS Matt Cardle

Join Real Radio, X Factor champion Matt Cardle, platinum-selling tenor Russell Watson and a host of star performers for this year’s spectacular Christmas light switch on event in Preston city centre on Saturday 17th November.

BID Preston and Real Radio have come together for the third year to produce a star-studded afternoon of music, entertainment and special appearances, leading up to the big Switch On of the city centre Christmas lights. Trio Honey Ryder will be bringing their unique rock/folk sound to the Flag Market, along with boybands FTW and Forbidden Juice.

Britain’s Got Talent girlband Be Minor will also be taking to the stage, as will vocalists Nicole Tamer and Thomas Teago, pop acts R3action and Reconnected, and singer-songwriter Nick Evans.

Our very own Glen will be down from 3.30pm to get the crowed pumped. Sam and Lorna from the Feel Good Breakfast will then take over to bring you our amazing headline acts and to switch on the spectacular lights themselves. The show will climax with a star appearance from 2010’s The X Factor winner Matt Cardle, performing tracks from his brand new album The Fire.  ‘People’s Tenor’ Russell Watson will deliver a final encore performance to close the show and mark the beginning of Preston’s Christmas festivities.

Crowds of up to 10,000 are expected to descend on the historic Flag Market for the free event and the public are advised to arrive early.

Can you please say whether there will be any coverage of the Preston Christmas Lights Switch-On or will you continue with normal programmes?
If there will be live streaming on the internet, this would be of interest to friends abroad who would listen in. Thanks
