Bike Unite: They did it!

They did it!
They did it!

They overcame broken bikes, searing temperatures and going the wrong way... yet ALL of the Real Radio presenters’ team completed Bike Unite.

Dave Shearer, Salty, Scott Hughes, David Heane, Ben Ransom, Charissa Chadderton and Kate Kopczyk all completed the 37 mile bike ride to raise money for North West Children’s Hospitals Appeal – although Ben and Scott may have actually cycled 44 miles after going the wrong way!

And, meanwhile, poor Charissa’s bike broke leaving her hours behind the rest of the Real Radio team.

The cyclists set off from Salford Quays at 9.30am on Sunday, June 28th and the first of our teams arrivals at Liverpool’s Calderstones Park arrived at 2.15pm.

Salty, closely followed by Kate, was the first across the line.

Ben and Scott had been way up in front but after taking a wrong turn they ended up 7 miles out of the way! And Dave Shearer’s bike broke, meaning he had to complete the route with a wonky wheel!

Dave, David Ben and Scott all completed the ride ahead of Real Ents reporter Charissa, whose broken bike took an hour to ‘fix’ and meant she had to complete 20 miles of the route in the wrong gear.

But she made it in the end, crossing the line at around 4pm!

Congratulations to everyone who took part!
