Jude decorates
So, im in my new house and at the moment, (and I suspect for the next few months) my days are being spent chasing plumbers, booking deliveries of dishwashers and writing cheques....constantly it feels!
Today my dad popped over to hang a few doors for me and I spent 5 hours in the garden with my new electric hedge trimmer. It was a little scary at first, it's huge and I felt like an extra out of the Texas chainsaw massacre but I soon got the hang of it and was shaping boats out of privit hedges by the end of the day...well almost.
I also found 3 field mice in our compost heap at the back of the garden, and no, I didn't squeal! My hubby also proclaimed today he thought we should get a goat, to mow the back garden....watch this space to see if he gets his way!
Ah, the continued glamour of renovating. Today I had 6 men round to my house...they were builders mind but i'm sure the neighbours curtains MUST be twitchin! Today I spent the day painting the bathroom, putting up shelves and building one heck of a flat pack from Ikea. Next time I see a sign for 'delivered fully assembled' that will have my name on it. We fought for 3 hours solid and now you wouldn't believe what I can do with an Allen key!
I'm also looking for a chimmney sweep at the moment. Do they exist??? I can honestly say I never thought i'd be looking for a man to come and sweep my flue! We're re-instating period features in the house and opening up the fire again to have a real log one! Toasty, warm, romantic...roasting chestnuts and sipping mulled glogg....ah, I can dream....I have 8 more rooms to paint first.
